About Karin
I am a licensed occupational therapist, having received my OT license in the year 2000. With 24 years of experience in the field, I have provided care in various settings, including Bay Area Early Intervention, UCSF Children’s Hospital, NHS Home-Based Services in London, and Private Practice.
My expertise lies in pediatric OT, where I have enjoyed working with babies, young children, and their families over the years. I have always been passionate about helping children become independent in their physical and emotional world, and my personal experiences as a parent have taught me how to advocate for other children's needs.
I specialize in regulation, sensory integration, praxis skills, and feeding therapy. I am licensed and registered to treat clients in California, and I hold a certification in the Advanced Practice of Swallowing Assessment, Evaluation, and Intervention. In addition, I am certified in Ayers Sensory Integration (ASI®) by CLASI, with advanced training in the administration, scoring, and interpretation of the comprehensive measures of sensory integration, including the EASI and SPM.
I received my bachelor’s degree in OT from USC in 1999 and went on to complete my master’s degree in OT from Tufts University in 2001. When it comes to collaborating with families, I always strive to find the right challenge for children based on their unique needs and abilities, thereby helping them achieve optimal independence.
Apart from my professional life, I enjoy spending time with my family, which includes my husband, two boys, and our furry friend, Hermione.
